My excitement starts building up in September! sometimes i even put up the tree shortly after that...but i remember growing up, my dad setting up the tree, the awful shopping spree's (i used to hate going shopping and my mum hated it more cause i was terribly picky about clothes, i used to be drawn without being deliberate, to expensive dresses we couldnt afford, sometimesi offered to go without new clothes cause i was so picky) anyway, once was out the way, there was the meal preparation Christmas eve, soft comforting christmassy songs always playing, people all on holiday (most business shut down during our long school holiday in south africa to re-open january only) and a very very relaxed peaceful atmosphere, and unexpected visits from family members on Christmas day! The thought of it alone is comforting, and makes me tingle...

When my children were younger we used to go visiting the family in early December, round all the relatives that felt they needed visiting, then come Christmas week we have a nice relaxing time just me and the kids - no need to be nice to interlopers.

Christmas morning we all pile in my big bed and open our stockings (even me) and then dawdle through the day. At some point we make *another* stollen, having alreay eaten the one we baked on Christmas Eve.

This Christmas feels like 'tis going to be better than the last few- I am all ready to make the Christmas cards, and have a warm fuzzy feeling about a certain relationship... I foresee some frosty mornings and long, hot cuddles...

when i was a kid my dad used to wake us up about 6am and make us breakfast on the open fire, just toast, but it always made Christmas for me and now to this day the Christmas coca cola advert always gets me in the mood, i know it straight away from the "holidays are coming" line.

ideal Christmas would be spending it with my boyfriend and being happy we have each other as well as our family's, and of course a great tree set up, loads of present under it, as well as a great food, decorations, and an open fire

Everyone has their own idea how they want to spend Xmas, me personally am in UK and therefor feel very lonely with all my family, children and grandchildren in ZA and if I could go down to them at that time of the year, I would love to spend the day with all of them around the swimming pool at home with lots of salads and the men do the braai, (barbeque). All are happy and give, mostly to the little ones. a gift and just enjoy the day together.

That's lovely.

For me the magic of Christmas is the excitement of my children on Christmas Eve, putting out biscuits and a drink for Santa, and a carrot for the reindeer, and then their faces on Christmas Day when they see their presents.

An ideal Christmas was one where people stopped "buying" excessively and remembered the true meaning of celebrating. It's to commercial now.

My ideal has changed over the years... I'm just happy to have my partner and i alone without the hustle of family and friends and spend the entire day in our pyjamas, opening gifts all day and wining and dining throughout the day...it's such a great time to relax.

As our kinfolk has executed interior the bypass: to gown up as Santa and his helpers and circulate to 2 distinctive nursing properties and function Santa hug adults with Down's and the grins on everyones's faces, even persons that are blind. everybody needs a "hug" from Santa extra effective than the presents..... I cry as I keep in mind numerous "person babies" arise and decide to the touch me and as I kneel all the way down to be eye point with them, I see how organic they are and are secure from devil as Heavenly Father placed enmity between devil and those candy spirits. So now as we rejoice the beginning of infant Jesus, the angels rejoice with us and all of us share the sunshine interior of us.

Christ returning in glory, and every eye seeing him that day. He said he'd return when even his followers least expected him to. Puts 25th December high on the probability list, I'd say.
