My husband and I dont give Christmas gifts to eachother anymore since our son isn't living here anymore. We give to Charities and I also make food bags and toy bags to give to the homeless. This is something we also tought our son when he was younger. He would always give away some of his toys to the children in need. (his choice to give)

During the holidays I usually give cards to friends and family and buy gifts for those in need at the Angel Tree at the mall.

As the exchange of my Christmas present from my parents and relatives, i asked for cash and then send it to the Mentaway Island, through a help of a Father in the Island.
Often times i also asked help in form of books and clothes, my sources is various, parents, relatives, friends, and of course myself. I've done it for 5 years now.

I would give them up after all it is better to give than receive!Especially to CHILDREN I have 7 grand kids and would rather get a hug than a gift!

As long as they were really in need yes. I sponser 2 children off of our angel tree at the local K-mart every year. Its my little way of helping. I hate to see kids go without christmas.

I guess I'd have to know why the person was poor before I decided to give away my stuff. Some people are just lazy losers and don't deserve Christmas. Hopefully there are enough organizations to make sure the kids are okay.

Growing up we always had to give away our toys before "Santa" would bring us new ones.
Every season I do the same thing, I give away clothes and coats before I go out to buy new things.

Yes, it really depends if they are not working becuase they want other people to take care of them, then no. But if they can't help it then yes.
