I was in the forest at night in Germany on guard duty. My rifle was empty. I heard a munching smacking of the lips. I walked toward the sound but my flashlight was nearly out. I kept walking and the munching sound got louder. I kept walking, it got impossibly loud. Finally, my dim light revealed two beady eyes and tusks. To my horror, I realized that I had walked up on a wild pig that was eating our garbage. It was huge probably 500 pounds of lean muscle. For some reason, I thought I could scare it away so I went "Unnggh" It stopped eating and looked at me like "Are you crazy" It seemed that the pig couldn't decide whether to run or attack. It compromised. It ran in tight circles around me at top speed. As it banked its back was just a few feet away. I was terrified. Eventually I had a chance to jump on the armored personnel carrier and I stayed up there the rest of the night.

Well, I have seen many animals do many amazing things... my cat has turned the door handle, my dog knows several hundred words and sentences and about 10-15 tricks, I have seen him roll over ten times in a row just because I have a treat in my hand and before I get to say anything.
But the single most amazing thing I have ever seen any animal do might seem trivial to others.... It wasn't intelligent, stupid, off the wall or unexplainable, it was just natural and beautiful. It was a pack of more than 7 Eastern Canadian wolves howling in full chorus about 200 feet away from me on the side of a rocky mountain. It was so loud and close that it felt like we were right beside them and you could see wolves running through the trees on the rock howling as they went.... the howls echoing and amplified by the surrounding rocky hills. It was an absolutely amazing experience and I will never forget it, luckily I also have the whole thing on video. Wolves are incredible animals and it gives you a strange feeling when you hear them howling in the wilderness, a feeling that is perhaps unexplainable until you experience it for yourself..... standing in the very midst of a howling wolf pack in the wild...

My pet rat was out of his cage on the cover which is made of hardware cloth. That is a screen made with wires spaced about half an inch apart. In other words 90% air. Something startled the rat and he scooted 2 feet across the screen in a split second. Never put a foot through a hole.

On a nature show there was a tiger who had just lost her cub. She heard the calls of another cub in the night and found a baby cheeta in trouble with some hyenas. Pondering what to do she actually took the baby cheeta to a safe place but in the end knew she couldnt raise it herself.
And we say we are the only animals with compassion...

As compared to a human animal you mean? I once saw a bear turn a car over on it's side.

Explain what a "non human animal" is and then maybe someone could answer the question. What's a "human animal"?

my cat peed in the toilet once. She never did it again (that I know of) and I don't know how she learned how to do it in the first place.
