CERN in Switzerland.

Other facilities make this stuff all over the world. However, they only make it in microscopic quantities.

Antimatter can also be the natural product of cosmic rays striking the upper atmosphere (click here http://livefromcern.web.cern.ch/livefromcern/antimatter/everyday/AM-everyday02.html), so in a sense antimatter has been produced almost everywhere (in very, very small quantities that make CERN's samples seem gigantic).

The risk of the scenario outlined in Dan Brown's Angels and Demons is minimal for two reasons. First, it is incredibly difficult to make it ($2 trillion per ounce, according to one source I now can't find), and even if you do make it the storage containers tend to be rather large and unweildly, unlike the pocket-sized capsules in the novel. There is a particle accelerator, often called a Atom Smasher, in New Mexico, USA. What it does is it take atoms and shoots them down this tube, that is miles long, using magnets as propulsion. They get the atoms so fast they almost reach the speed of light. Then they smash them against a dissimilar atom. The point of this is to create new elements. some have been successful, but only for a few fractions of a second. A bi-product of the experiment is anti-matter! Now it doesn't last long, as soon as it comes in contact with anything it is neutralized and bye bye anti-matter.

CERN (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire) labs has created very small amounts of anti-matter, typcially confined to anti-protons (negatively charged protons).

CERN is located in France (on the border with Switzerland). Interestingly, a researcher at CERN is widely credited for creating the Internet.

In connection with between the solutions above, protons and electrons at the instant are not antimatter, they're the two remember debris. each subatomic remember particle has an antimatter equivalent, very basic aside from having the alternative fee, and the reality that as quickly as a remember particle and its antimatter equivalent meet, they annihilate, liberating potential in accordance to E=mc^2. it is not a remember of a few being sturdy and a few no longer. it relatively is in basic terms as sturdy because of the fact the equivalent sort of remember, yet there is in basic terms plenty remember around, it ought to by no skill final very long with out bumping into something. Antimatter debris are produced often and as a remember needless to say in particle accelerators and that they seem to be a organic by skill of-made from of course radioactive components. Antimatter as a gas is the main potential useful you need to get. it would make a fantastically nifty explosive too. yet any you create ought to basically be saved in isolation from any remember, making it in all probability too awkward and volatile for use. additionally, the only way of producing this is in subatomic collisions, and it relatively is anticipated that a million gram of antimatter, of any style, expenses approximately $a million billion good now. additionally, puppy scanning in basic terms makes use of organic radioactivity and the sign produced by skill of the annihilation. And the "transforming into something from no longer something" pseudo-medical pseudo-religious crap in Angels & Demons is in basic terms that, crap. it relatively is all very medical and it relatively is been widespread for practically one hundred years.

FERMILAB in Aurora/Batavia Illinois-it's about 40 miles west of Chicago.

I don't know if they are they only labratory creating anti-matter, but I do know that they do & have been for a while now.

I believe they found antimatter particles in space using hubble. Anti matter has never been created or found on earth.

I have a whole box full in my attic waiting for a use for it. Unfortunately as soon as people find out, the liberals will try to outlaw it.

I once did, but can't recall. I could be a wise-*** and say "in a lab", but I won't.

I searched for it, and of course, the answer is at CERN.

CERN, I'm guessing. And a lot of other places.
