I'm not on BT, but when this happens it usually just needs to have the modem rebooted, disconnected it from the computer, and from its power source, or phone-line, wait a minute, then reconnect first the power source or phone-line, then to the computer.
When you get onto the internet, go to the BT website, they are usually quite good at giving instructions/ advice.
You've put this question on here, so somehow you have access to the internet.
Another route for advise is to put down into the Google search.

BT have been having a lot of problems through out the country, I was off line for 10 days. Because they hold the trump cards you can only wait. Contact your provider as only they can get onto BT, if you do you will get an automated answer telling you that.

that's broadband for you; one day fine, fast, responsive, another day AAAAGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if you right click on the icon in the bottom right hand corner, you may get an option to repair, this sometimes works.
Other times it's the server that's down, you just need to try again later
Read what the rest of the page says, apart from 'this page cannot be displayed', it sometimes gives useful/helpful info.

BT Broadband does drop out occasionally - mine has been OK lately, though. Do you need to reset your WEP settings?

This could be anything from the ISP to your internet explorer settings, even your router (wireless ones are the worst for it) Please be more specific, and i will try to help.
