A positive hematocrit means that your hematocrit level is low. Hematocrit levels tell if you are anemic. Many women are anemic during pregnancy because the growing fetus creates a high demand for iron. That is why prenatal vitamins have iron in them. Your doc should have prescribed a prenatal vitamin with iron in it for you. Keep in mind that taking iron often results in constipation (and pregnancy does that as well) so you will need to make sure you eat plenty of fiber, drink plenty of water, continue with whatever exercise program your doc says is okay during your pregnancy, etc,. It you develop this side effect, talk to your doc about it since you don't want to increase your risk of hemmoroids.
