Because some people actually believe that anything not appearing in the Bible is satanic, and anyone who doesn't believe in the Bible is going to hell, and they must do everything they can to force their beliefs on others in the name of salvation.
So says a formerly Christian witch. Those of you who are going to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about - my uncle is a retired minister and my mother was a church secretary for two decades, so please save it. I do know what I'm talking about. I respect your right to believe something I don't, and I don't go around screaming about how Christmas was stolen from pagan religions and does nothing other than celebrate the birth of your excuse for oppressing and insulting others (sorry Jesus - I know it's not your fault what your followers do). So please stop saying my New Year is the birthday of an entity I DO NOT BELIEVE EXISTS (that would be Satan - thanks for perverting our Horned God).
Blessed be, all.

I definitely feel the same way. But there will always be religious fanatics that will complain about everything that society does as a whole. I see a trend in our society that this fanaticism is increasing. I think this is a result of people thinking less for themselves and allowing others to tell them how to think. The key to a successful democratic society is an educated citizenry. Critical thinking needs to become one of our educational basics. Reading, writing and arithmetic doesn't do much if you can't analyze it and apply critical thinking to it. In closing, educate yourself about issues and be able to speak intelligently about them when people blurt out things like "Halloween is evil".
Now related to that topic, I found this doing a search of yahoo. "Contrary to Christian criticism from many sources, Halloween did not originate as a Satanic festival, but was religious in nature (of course, the religion I am referring to is the Celtic faith of the ancient Druids rather than Christianity). This is an important distinction, for Halloween’s association with satanic worship is a modern phenomenon. The Celts didn't worship the devil (or any god of death) on Halloween." The website I pulled this from goes into this topic in depth and shows that a good amount of research was put into creating it. The pastor that wrote it lists his sources. Now that's some good critical thinking!!

Well Halloweens orgin is Pagan. I found out in the libary. It was changed yrs later because christians started to celebrate it to so the churches did not want to lose their members so they change it to all saints day. It is still Pagan. Why do not ppl want to find out exactly what they are celebrating. I have been told by such ppl they do not want to give up their holidays no mater what. If it is not in the bible do not do it. When ppl find out the truth about the matter they hate you for it. I know. I guess the saying is true. The Truth Hurts.

I cant say that I fele the same way..
it has nothing to do with witches worshiping satan or anything it's just the thought of little children dressing up as ghosts and vampires; its give the shivers...no matter what the orgin of the holiday..i just dont like that fact. People celebrating a holiday of ghosts and witches and devils. Is it really that cool to see someone dressed up as Satan. Given if you have a relationship with Christ...or if you don't. That is the reason I dont celebrate Hallowen . And yes I do have a relationship with Christ. Just the idea of people promoting witches and devils and stuff like that...i dont like

Halloween, Child’s Play or The Serpent in the Garden?
October 14th, 2006 by jet44
This was my child’s English assignment. The students were asked to write a story on the subject of getting rid of a Holiday or adding one and this is what she wrote. I guess when the teacher read this one (no names were given) the class was dumbfounded and speechless.
English 11 Holidays
10-6-06
To Whom It May Concern:
One of the main holidays in our country is Halloween. I feel that this particular holiday produces a more negative affect than holidays should be allowed. On Halloween nights many kids, young and old, walk up and down streets to collects candy and other goodies from the neighbors. These actions may seem completely harmless when thought of briefly but when the true history of this holiday is investigated further horrible truths emerge. For example the roots of Halloween date back to medieval times. Back then October 31 was considered a day when dead spirits were believed to return to their homes and when evil practices, such as witchcraft, were most potent. My friends from South Africa lived in an area, where on Halloween nights, the cults would gather at graveyards to sacrifice cats and newborn babies to evil spirits. Today many people don’t understand the gruesome nature of this holiday and eagerly dismiss and negative facts against its origin. Today the choice of costumes for Halloween is also a problem for many people. If you’ve ever visited a general store in late September you’ve probably seen the variety of costumes displayed: skulls painted with blood, witch hats and masks, knives, axes etc. On a more serious note store decorations for Halloween usually advertise death and murder. For example Menards in Nebraska shows a skeleton hanging from the rafters by a handmade noose. Who would want their three year old child to be exposed to that degree of terror at such a young age? Decorations like these not only scare children but also teach them that these actions are O.K. and exciting.
The problem with Halloween not only lies with its history and advertisement, but also with the safety of communities. One of the activities that troublemaking teenagers like to do on Halloween is pranking. Although this activity is slightly tolerable a very fine line is often crossed. Damage to public and personal property is a major prank that many pranksters try to accomplish on Halloween night. Do you want your children to be out amongst these potential criminals? Worse yet, a part of this crime? Safety is also an issue when addressing Halloween. Children are commonly left alone on October 31st to gather all the candy they can with their friends. Although there is safety in numbers, abductions do occur and are possible at any moment. Allowing this holiday to remain on our calendars will surely endanger our homes and families to a point we have never reached before. The simple concepts behind Halloween, such as candy gathering and consuming as much as possible is hard on the human body system. High calorie candy is one reason why so many kids today are overweight and proud owners of cavities that require around $100 to fix. Careful consumption of these treats is a very important skill that Halloween clearly destroys.
I understand that Halloween has been a trademark of our history and economy for many years, but the strong negativity of this holiday is too much to agree with! An alternative holiday such as a Harvest Celebration could involve dressing up in less terrorizing costumes and having a meal with family and friends. Kids could play games and win small pieces of candy or toys for prizes. All I ask is that you understand the satanic nature of this popular holiday and consider some other possible alternatives that could take the place of this highly controversial holiday.

as a christian i don't find anything evil about Halloween, ppl are interpreting Halloween to please their own beliefs. If they truly did research they'll see it's basically a day for the dead-not Satan's b-day. Yet, no matter how much evidence is showed that Halloween isn't an evil holiday, ppl will still believe it is.
