I think it was his last recording. He died soon after. It is a really nice piece of music, but apparently he sang the song to highlight the death of his race, through mixed race breeding etc. Apparently there are well under 5000 full-blooded Hawaiians left in the world, which is pretty sad really.

I love that song! It was used in a Lynx advert ages ago, the one where the advert starts with them in bed and then rewinds to where the couple first met in the supermarket. When I heard it there I searched and found it was IZ who sang it and got the album. Beautiful voice.

Yesss! Absolutely love it! ER had their season finale with that song playing as the main character Dr Green was dying... it's a haunting melody anyway but his version is superb!!
