the "iceman" terry labonte is now gonna be permanately retired after the 2006 nascar season has ended.
my question:
is anybody a fan of terry's(besides me)?will he be missed,even though he has not raced a full scedule in a couple of years,and did not do to well when he did race this year?
i will miss his presence at the races.

Yes, I will miss him. I already miss him being there every week. I am sure his Hendrick teammates will miss him also.

Yes, he will be missed by many. He is a class act. Nothing phony about him, he never got the overinflated ego like some others.
I'll never forget a couple of years ago they were showing the Kyle Petty Charity ride and Terry and his wife were riding in it. He was genuinely touched by the number of his fans who came out to greet them.
I know the sport has to have its "personalities" "young guns", etc., but there will always be a place in the hearts of true race fans for guys like Texas Terry. I would love to see him get a win this weekend.

Yeah i am a fan of Terry, i remember some of the great racing that went on between him and Earnhardt Sr. Mostly Bristol. That was good racing. Although I always rooted for Sr. over Terry.

My previous screen name was 'IceManFan5'. I maintain that Terry Labonte will be considered my all-time favorite driver. Yes, it will be a little bit different not seeing him listed in the Race Lineup occasionally. It has helped since he has done a part-time schedule.

I liked Terry and I will miss seeing him race. It's always weird seeing the older drivers retire and then you just have to get used to it.

Every year we lose an older driver to retirement.Terry is one driver that would take time with the fans.He had the qualities that have made him a champion.He will be missed.

It's kind of hard to let go of these older drivers that have been around forever. He is a true icon of the sport.
