I assume you are not in england, men only clubs are a well established tradition that is not ridiculed. Just out of curiosity have you heard of a men only club/group called the Freemasons?

The tradition for centuries was for men to have private clubs. What's so wrong about women wanting a place where they would not be subjected to the unwanted attentions of men for a while?

there are many more man only clubs than women only clubs. the only ones that get sued or ridiculed as sexist are the ones where business is conducted and they exclude females from conducting business with their male clients there.

What women-only clubs are you talking about? The Garden Club? The Junior League?
Go to your closest big city and you will see many "gentlemen's clubs".
