Is not really a phone is going to be a PDA or smart phone.

Yeah, if you have wi-fi in your house, the device will work just fine, and you don't have to pay for it, since I am sure you already pay for wireless internet.
If you use other Wifi hotspots, like in Starbucks or Barnes and Noble, you'll pay a connection fee and an hourly fee. They are pretty cheap though.
If you go to college, usually they're set up for wifi and you can use that on your PDA too.
I had a Lifedrive, and I connected fine to my schools wifi..but becareful, even though your device says it has wifi, you might need to research to see if you have to buy additional software for APNs.

If you use only the wi-fi finction of the phone you will not be charged for wi-fi use.
