like my best friend but i am afraid if i told her and she did not feel the same are relationship would be awkward

This can be a very hard situation, but it doesn't have to be. Alls you have to do is tell her how you feel BUT if she doesn't feel the same way, don't pursue it. If you tell her and she doesn't reciprocate the feelings it will be hard for her to stay your friend if you push the subject. But if you say" If you don't feel the same way that's cool, I still want to just be your friend" she'll still want to be your friend. If she's your best friend and doesn't see you that way, she should still be a good enough friend, not to make the situation awkward, If she likes you, cool, if not, Oh Well! YOU SHOULD CHOOSE A TIME WHEN SHE IS FEELING FLIRTY AND FUN AND THEN TELL HER THAT YOU ARE STARTING TO HAVE SOME FEELINGS FOR HER AND YOU WANTED TO KNOW IF THEIR WAS A CHANCE FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP GOING FURTHER...ASSURE HER THAT REGARDLESS OF HER ANSWER YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A FRIEND TO HER AND RESPECT HER.

you should tell her anyway. if she doesnt feel the same about you as you do about her maybe its time to end the relationship.
