Distribute all the exponents for each term, then add and factor.
You should get x^2(4y^4) -x^4y^4. Factor x^2y^4, you get
x^2y^4 ( 4 - x^2) as final answer.

Note that x^2 times -x^2 is -x^4.

Distribute the squares on each term.

x^4y^2 + x^2(-xy^4)

Multiply the second term by the x^2

x^4y^2-x^3y^4

if u mean simplify [ (x^2)(Y^2) ]^2 + x^2( -xy^2)^2
then the answer is:-
=[ (x^4)(Y^4) ]^2 - x^2 [ (x^2) (y^4) ]
=(x^4) (y^4) - (X^4) (y^4)
= zero
