I'm a writer and I've used the codename of "Lighthouse" for my main character for years. In short, he is defined by having a tremendous intellect (scientific genius), willpower, and great control over some of his psychic powers - most notably precognition.
Though, I can't explain why his code name is Lighthouse.
Can you help me come up with a good reason?

I don't know if it is a good reason, but it is the first thing I thought of. He is similar to a lighthouse in the way that his precognition and intellect guide people, lead people to find justice the same way the light guides ships in the darkness.

Perhaps he needs to 'scan' in a certain direction, sweeping his attention around as if in a lighthouse beam, when he wants to detect other minds or significant objects in his vicinity.
Or, (if you think of him as a classic comic-book type superhero)he could simply want to be a beacon of truth and hope, leading people away from crime and evil, warning them against falling into despair and turning to violence which will shipwreck their lives.
Either way, your character sounds interesting. Come to think of it, the two ideas are not mutually contradictory... you could use them both! what sort of costume does he wear...?

You know you don't have to explain why he chose "Lighthouse".... He very well could have picked it because he liked the sound. Or maybe he grew up near the ocean (Some where like Long Island, California or Massachusetts....) and it is a nod to his roots.
