Do you ever not answer a question because it has too many answers already?

Sometimes I won't answer a question that has paragraphs of information.

I used to pass questions by when I saw a lot of answers already, but not anymore because I've come to realize that though I might repeat another answerer, I might not as well. I don't read the other answers first (unless it's a technical question) & by answering, I might just stumble into the answer that was being sought.

Worst case scenario, at least the questioner knows that someone saw their question, & took time out to respond to it. Sometimes that's really something, because there are some good questions out there that slip through the cracks because of the way the system works.

Yeah - usually when it's somebody asking for specific information, and a bunch of people have already answered the question correctly.

yes. Even if a question has only a few answers but I agree with most of the answers, I won't answer it. If I disagree, I'll answer even if there are lots of answers.

i'd answer if anyway if it was a survey/poll question... otherwise i don't bother if there's already more than 10 answers... sometimes though i type and post my answer and by that time 20 answers have shown up out of nowhere!
