for that u need a cross cabling(thru lan)
You will create a Local Area Connection from Control Panel like this:
computer1
1. Network Connections
2. Create New Connection, if you have xp (it was all ready there )
3. IP address: a local Ip adress (Ex : 192.168.1.1)
4 Network mask: 255.255.255.0
5 Gateway: you can leave it blank
computer2 Local Area Connection configured like this :
1. Ip address: 192.168.1.xx
2. Network Mask: 255.255.255.0
3. Gateway: The Ip adress of the second card on the server
4. DNS 1/2 only if required.
On the second connection that you created you will activate from :
1. Control Panel
2. Network Connections
3. Local area connection 2
4. Advanced, check the box: "Allow Other Users to connect through this computers internet connection".
note :the difficult part of this network is cross cabling(u need climping tool) which i think u cant do by your self if u don't know any thing about lan.get it don from some one who have knowledge about networking

You need a Serial cable, or a CAT cable.
You can setup a connection using network cards between two computers, but it doesent sound like thats what you want to do.

well if you have sufficient serial usb ports, or serial or parallel com ports you can hook them up, to link your computers as an external device. and you can look in the windows help section, on how to do this. but i would consider using network ethernet adapter, either internal or external ethernet hub, if you plan on using the two computers to efficiently access the internet.
