I pay for my music. The whole downloading thing causes problems on several levels. When an artist records an album, all of the money that the record label puts into studio time and advertising needs to be paid back. It's literally like taking a loan from a bank. The record label will take a chance on an artist that they think is worth the investment. By downloading music, you are stealing directly from the band or artist that made the music. There are people that are responsible with it and will download music and buy it if they like it. Because of downloading, the record labels are less willing to take chances on original bands like Radiohead or Tool and will only push studio created crap that is guaranteed to make millions of dollars. This is why we have so many artists like Justin Timberlake or anyone from American Idol. The record label can transform them into whatever they want to make money. Keep downloading music, and eventually there won't be a single original artist left on the shelves. On the other hand, if you pay for music that you like, the record labels will notice trends and try to sign bands of the current trends. Don't download music if you want anything remotely original to come out in the future.

Worser?! Did you just say, 'Worser!?'
Ha! Is that a Canadian word?
I used to 'steal' (download it), but not in the past 2 years.
I may sample something, and if I like it, I buy it.
Or I just flat out respect the artist enough and pre-order it.

Buy it, or get you comp messed up while downloading.
And don't 'steal' it.

I do both! And you are right because we Canadians don't have to worry about a single thing when stealing music.
