You need equal amounts of red and yellow to make orange. Mixing more red will make it a warmer, darker orange. Mixing in more yellow makes it a brighter orange.

so the color orange comes from red and yellow

I think I am right in saying there are two answers, depending on whether you are looking at reflected light or emitted light. In other words, whether you are mixing pigments or colours on a computer screen.

In the first case, I believe it's red and green, in the second, red and yellow. Not certain though; hopefully an artist might be able to tell you.

Added later: Yes, I got these the wrong way round. When light is emitted, it is known as additive colour mixing, and when it is reflected it is called subtractive mixing. With emitted light it is a mixture of red and green. With reflected light it is a mixture of cyan and yellow.
