Are you applying for a job helping people get into their Halloween outfits?

If not -- I suspect that it is "Customer Service" -- and they are the people who listen to customers who have complaints or questions & try to help them out.

Costumer Service would be some sort of service advising on or supplying a costume, wouldn't it ?

Are you sure it isn't "Customer Service"?

If so, it is all aspects of a business which relate to ensuring that the customer is completely satisfied. This will vary, depending on what business you're talking about. For example, in a supermarket it will mostly take the form of face to face encounters with customers, dealing with anything that happens in the store or associated with a purchase. With financial services, Customer Service will probably be exclusively by phone, and to a lesser extent email and letter.

It can be dealing with complaints, making follow up calls to ensure a transaction was successful, or in a restaurant it is checking to ensure that a meal is satisfactory.

Please go back and read the question again, though. Just in case it is a service which helps with costumes !

First off, unless you want to work at a costume shop it would be customer service, not costumer. Customer service is just as simple as it sounds. It's servicing customers (and this is not supposed to sound kinky). Basically, it's how you interact with the customers. A customer, wether on the phone or in person has a need or a want, and you, along with your fellow employees, have to work to find out what that is and how to get it for them. If you have good customer services skills you listen to what the customer is saying and help them come to an answer without pushing something they don't want on them.

Does this make any sense? When you've working in a customer-service oriented industry for years it's just something you do, and you don't really know how to explain any more.

costumer service is when you dress up like for halloween and then wait on people like perhaps a cashier or fast food, customer service which is probably what you mean is when you have a job mostly in retail, and you must cater to the customer

Customer service is the service that you provide to the customers.

They are coming to you to buy something or to get information from you or to have the company you are working for provide a service.

If you treat them well and are kind a respectful towards them, your customer service is good. If you are nasty and do not make them feel welcome while doing business with your company, your customer service is bad.

Every employer wants you to have good customer service.
