He says he's happy, but I'm not sure, I think maybe he´s just pushing us away so he can sink into self-pitying isolation. My mate says that if he says he´s happy, then he must be happy in his world. But I only want what´s best for him. What do you think?

i think that if you keep going on at Nigel you are going to alienate him. so stop bugging out.

what you perceive as happiness could be another person's hell.

so be a friend and try not to control him. if you see him falter pick him up. but you have to allow him to make his own mistakes, otherwise he won't thank you.

Wow! XTC! Now there's a definite blast from the past! I have not heard those guys in like years! I inherited my older sister's records and XTC's Towers of London was one of them. I can remember them on some kids' tv show performing Generals and Majors when i was just a nipper.
I grew up into punk later and pick up any definitive punk history cd and those guys are on it. Either Nigel, Towers or Generals will be on it.
FYI, Andy Partridge is a record producer in Wales.

Sounds like an emotional vampire,, sucks the life energy from everyone around him.

Walk away,, nothing good can come pity and self loathing.

I think that if young Nigel says he's happy
He must be happy
He must be happy in his work
Nigel is not outspoken
But he likes to speak
And he loves to be spoken to
Nigel is happy in his work
