I am thinking about having some things done to my fiances truck for his birthday and I need an idea of about how much it will cost me etc.

The main things he wants are a hitch, running boards and tint on the windows. Its a 2004 Chevy Silverado.

So guys, help me out, point me in the right direction as to what brands, prices, where to get them etc.

Another question, which is better nerf bars or running boards??

All help is appreciated

Hitch is about $200-$300 and can be found at any store that sells campers or even your local uhaul can do them for you. Get at least a class III or it's pointless.

Tint is only a few hundred dollars as well.

Nerf bars VS running boards depends on the truck and your taste.

2wd city truck should get running boards

4wd truck should get nerf bars. They're stronger and designed to take a beating on rocks and things off road. Price will vary depending on manufacturer but pick something you or he will like and can afford.

Tint can be done at all kinds of auto glass places, and is usually priced at job size. I had my truck done for about $150. Running boards are nice, but even better are tube steps. They are more durable and give the truck a better offroad look, if that is what he is going for.

Yes to step bars, tint and hitch. NO to running boards unless he's above 65 yrs. old. Actually if you had a new dual exhaust with chrome tips ran, he'd love that. Maybe even some Flowmaster mufflers to go with it. That's what I would do, new exhaust and headlight covers.
