You mean Internet Explorer? MS Explorer is the file browsing program for Windows, and is specific to each version of Windows.

For Windows Vista, this is the default web browser. You cannot use Internet Explorer 6.

If you use Windows XP, the upgrade is optional and reversible. If you do not want to upgrade you don't have to, and you can uninstall it if you don't like it.

If you use Windows 2000, NT, ME, 98 or 95, you can't use Internet Explorer 7. IE 6 or 5 is your only option.

If you have ms xp or higher i strongly suggest to upgrade. MS explorer 7 makes surfing a lot more easyer and faster.

Never. Upgrade to Firefox instead - far safer, less viruses, no pop-ups, tabbed browsing, etc, etc
