I live out towards the east and wake up to Mount Danenong and it still makes me smile in the morning - very hard to have a grumpy day when something as beautifal as that to wake up to.
Mount Dandenong is located out to the East of Melbourne city and some of the most beauitful houses are located up the mountain itself.
Have a look at www.domain.com.au and type in a few of the place names people give you and it will give you a rough idea to what the places look like and how much the areas cost to live. Good luck and welcome to Melbourne

This is a hard question to answer.

What is it you are looking for?

A nice mansion in Toorak or Brighton would not be bad to wake up in each day, but can you afford it?

The Mornington Peninsula is a scenic wonderland - but it's also an hour from the city - no good if you have a job in the CBD.

Give us some more specific details of what you are after and we'll see what we can come up with.

Cheers.

If you can afford it the peninsula is the place to be the further south you go the nicer it gets .

Melbourne is a great place to live....
I live here (and am an estate agent here also).

There are a huge amount of great areas to live in.
It really depends on what you want from a house and location.

Do you want to be near water/ocean (Mornington Peninsula area is great).

Do you want to be near mountains (The Dandenongs (different to Dandenong) are lovely and very pretty).

Do you want to be near schools/uni/shopping towns/house with land/small appartment? Along with all of that your budget will play a role in the location you live in.

Good luck and enjoy Melbourne!

Depends on your lifestyle.

Middle park is good for beach lifestyle with family. Close to city, schools, parks and ofcourse, beaches.
