I had a miscarriage on 10/19 .. I bled heavily up until 10/26 then it stopped with only light brown spotting every once in a while when I wiped. I was still testing positive on the pregnancy tests up until 10/29 .. I started bleeding again today (not heavy) and I have slight pain in my lower right side (about where my ovary would be) I took another pregnancy test just about 10 minutes ago and it says not pregnant. I am so very confused .. I still in some ways feel pregnant .. then I also dont .. I dont know what is going on. Could this be my first cycle after the miscarriage? I had very irregular (two a year if that) cycle's due to PCOS before I got pregnant so im not used to them ... Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? We want to get pregnant again soon but my body is so weird right now I dont know what to do.

Hi there, first of all I want to say that I am so sorry this happened to you. Secondly, the test could be positive because it's still detecting your hormone level as still being pregnant. It may take a while for your body to get back to normal and your hormone levels to go back down. As for the bleeding perhaps your body is still reacting to the miscarriage & you may bleed on & off for some time. I suggest you go back to your doctor & talk to her/him about it & find out when it's safe to start trying again. Lots of people who had miscarriages succeed in having a healthly full term pregnancy & healthy babies.. Don't let it get you too down, there is hope!
Good luck & God bless.

It sounds like this is still bleeding from the miscarriage. You can bleed and spot for 2 to 2-1/2 weeks after a miscarriage. Doctors recommend getting pregnant after your next regular cycle. So wait another 6 weeks or so before trying.

its hard to say hun but bleeding in pregnancy with cramping does not sound to hope full, you say she has been bleeding for Around 2-3 weeks well surely she would of miscarried in this time if its going to happen, im guessing a miscarriage at any stage will more or less be the same. i lost my baby at 8 weeks and was bleeding a few days prior to this and lost a big clot in morn so went for a scan in the afternoon and my baby was still there but later on through the night i lost another 10 big clots in total and contracted every single clot, i should imagine that every miscarriage ends this way meaning big clots, its hard to say if this is the case cuz a lot of women do bleed during the 1st stages of pregnancy but 2-3 is a long time for it to still be going on. i would tell her to take a test cuz mine were still cumming back positive until a week after i miscarried. i really hope thing work out for her x

I am very sorry for your loss... I had a miscarriage about 10 years ago and it was extremely painful, before, during and after. Your uterus is shrinking and that could be what you are feeling.... the Dr. prescribed me pain medicine for the first month after my miscarriage. However if you have any concerns about your health you should contact your doctor, only he/she knows for sure what is going on, you may need a sonogram to make sure it is completely gone, if not, they may do a D&C on you-had one of those before too, that's not painful at all....

it could be your period, but most of the time, the miscarriage is counted as the period! Consult with your doctor to make sure everything was cleaned out! You don't want to have an infection! You can start trying again as soon as you are emotionally and physically ready, but don't rush back into it because you could possibly have another miscarriage! Sorry for your loss, but God knows best!

I done the same because of having rare periods hun it is probably your body making you think that you still are. You should really wait at least a month like my doctor told me because you will put your self in the high bracket again on a miscarriage. I am very SORRY to hear about your loss. IT WILL HAPPEN keep your head UP.

I have never had a miscarriage, so, I am not sure what to tell you, except, I'd call my OBGYN and talk to the nurse. She can tell you what's going on with your body and whether or not you should see the dr. good Luck, and I'm sorry about the miscarriage. I wish you the best with the next pregnancy.

A friend of mine had a miscarriage in the spring and then in Aug, found out she was pregnant again. She had a lot of bleeding with hers, and said she was really irregular for awhile but then hers straightened out and she got pregnant very easily with this one. Call your Dr. though.

I would see your docter, you may need a D&C to help clear out the uterus. You will test positive for pregnancy if the body does not properly dispell all remnants of the pregnancy.
Once you have gotten back to a regular period is when I would try again.

Did you go to a doctor after the miscarriage? They usually do a D and C to make sure all of the stuff is out of your uterus.
