how do we know we are going through the change of life? I think i have gone through it and my GP says no as im too young, 42, sweats change n body odour, no periods, is there a test that i can have to determine it as im in no doubt i have, im on the mini pill also and that can be the reason i dont have a period but had an operation earlier this year and had to come off the pill for a month and still no period. Just want to know if there is a blood test i can take??

Your GP should do a blood test ask him.My sister had the same problem getting her doctor to accept she was in the menopause.
She eventually got him to give her one & it come back positive.

Yes - you spelt it wrong. It's menopause. In fact it should be called menostop, because trust me it doesn't restart.

I got mine at 43, took a while to convince the doctor, who eventually gave me a blood test, which will confirm it.

Tell you GP you need a blood test!

Good luck!

Try another GP - yours does not sound very supportive.
It does sound as if you're experiencing menopausal syptoms but you need to have blood tests just to make sure.

actually there is a test you can buy at the drugstore, no prescription needed, works like a pregnancy test, uses urine and measures your hormone levels.
