I'm an Australian, and yeah I guess if you call everyone that's different to you weird, then we're weird - along with the rest of the world. And just to let you know, I have never, ever heard anyone actually say 'Let's put another shrimp on the barbie' unless they're taking the piss. Don't believe all the tourism jargon, why don't you get to know some of us before making judgements.

Weird???????? You can't have met too many, no Aussie would say shrimp - That was a marketing ploy for yanks and poms! As for long live the English, we have 1/2 your population already living the life over here! They don't want to go home!!
Do yourself a favour, get out and meet a few REAL Aussies, there's nothing weird about us!

There is nothing weird about that. I catch hell about my southern accent. Guess I am weird too. If you ever visit Australia, then you would realize it is a beautiful country and the citizens to be really interesting and amazing people. Plush shrimp on the barbie is yummy!!!!

What's weird about that. Another way of talking makes one weird. Well I'm a New Englander and I've been told I talk weird. So I guess we're all weird than because there's none of us alike.......

I bet they think Americans, Canadians etc. are weird. It's all a matter of perspective.
