Is there any tangs out there that can fit into a 46 gallon tank? I know they need to be in a 75 gallon but is it possible for any to be ok in this kind of tank if we get them when they are super small?

Looks like you might be able to get away with the yellow tang, says 50 gallons minimum. I'd recommend larger though if you can. Your substrate and any rocks/decorations you have will decrease the gallon amount. They really need a lot of swimming room, I definitely wouldn't recommend getting one if it's one of those bow front tanks though.

are you talking African Cichlid from lake Tanganika?
If so you can keep them just fine in a 46...the rule of thumb is one inch of fish per gallon of water. Just remember that all your fancy decorations take up water space so that 46 might only have 38 gallons of water?!?
