His preference is short, petite women. I have the short part down, but to him I'm a bit over-weight. Now he doesn't want to pursue a relationship with me until I lose the weight, when before he was all gung ho about it, but he says he'll wait for me. I've been trying to lose weight anyway, but I got upset because I feel like he should accept me as I am and then support me in losing weight. Was I wrong for getting upset? Even when I lose the weight I'm not sure I want to keep seeing this guy.

Screw him, there are all types of guys out there and if he really likes you then he should be able to like/love you for who you are. If he's really worth dating then he's worth dating now and when you lose weight. He sounds like a punk and the weight thing shouldn't even come into play, if he wants to date you he wants to date YOU and not your waistline.

It is clear he doesn't like you for you. It is a fact of life that we will gain and lose weight throughout our lives. If he is not happy with you now, he is not worth wasting your time on. You are right to think he should accept you and support you if you want to lose weight. If you want to lose weight, do it for yourself not him. There is someone out there for you that likes a little something to "hang on to".

GOOD LUCK!!!!!

If he doesn't accept you for how you are than leave him.
