In my humble opinion these three stand above the rest.

It depends on my mood, and who I'm with, and what we're doing.
Both bands are great in their own right. But there are some days that I would almost rather have a sharp stick in my eye than listen to "Stairway to Heaven" for the gazillionith time. This is where the Beatles have it hands down: they have so much material that the "classic rock" radio programmers have more singles to draw on, where as the number of Zeppelin singles are few, and so dumb-aas radio programmers (Klear Channel) treat us to an endless repitition of Whole Lotta Love, "Stairway to Heaven", and "All My Love" and completely ignore albums like phyisical grafitti and Presence.

The Beatles had better songwriting but Led Zeppelin had more talent. (No harm intended, especially regarding Paul who is indeed one of the best bassists - make that left-handed bassists - that I've ever seen.
Led Zeppelin just kept going, I'm sure that if John Bonham hadn't died they'd still be going today. They had great hits while they were around, it's just sad how tragedy struck when it did.

I honestly do not consider The Beatles, rock, but Led Zepplin is the definition of classic rock.

defianately led zeppelin. their music has so much more feeling and is so intricate and they are musical geniuses. they are much better musicians too. led zeppelin much more entertaining to listen to. they are the best band in the world. but don't get me wrong, i like the beatles too but i would chose led zeppelin over them any day.

led zeppelin... people usually say that the beatles are the best but id defenitly prefer led zeppelin
