If you are not having a period then you cant get pregnant, means you are not ovulating. I took the depo for 5 years, and here I am today trying to conceive and its been over a year and no luck. I went to the doctors after a year, and started fertility drugs. It can take up to a year for Depo to get out of your system. The only drug I know of to start period is Provara, but still just starting your period doesnt mean that you ovulate. Talk with your doctor.

I have heard of women not having periods when they are athletes or if they have an eating disorder. I think you would need to have the dye test that they can do and make sure you're not scared in your tubes. Your ovaries have to be working too. And there is that one little chance that your husband is sterile and then you get to make some lucky kid that was born into a rotten situation a very happy baby. Adoption is wonderful. You can't help falling in love with a child.

I wish I had a more encouraging answer for you, but let me tell you my experience.

My husband and I were trying to get pg. We had a miscarriage in 9/04. Doc said to wait 3-6 months before trying again, so I used Depo as bc. Got 2 shots, one in 9/04, one in 12/04. Then decided to come off of it and try again. As of 12/05, I still hadn't gotten a period again. Went to doc in 3/06, he put me on bc for a month, which still didn't start it. Then he gave me a stronger hormone in 4/06 which finally yielded results. Got periods back, but they were far from regular...anywhere from 15 days to 45 days between. It took another 4 months for me to start having anything resembling a normal cycle.

However, my experience doesn't mean yours is the same! Check with your doctor on why if you haven't already....he/she may be able to help!

The pill will not give you an actual period. That's the whole idea of oral contraception- it prevents ovulation.

The menstruation that a woman experiences while on the Pill is a hormonal response to the medication and has nothing to do with an actual egg/uterus interaction.
