CAMPAIGN VICTORY.........SUCCESS IN THE ARMS TRADE TREATY VOTE!!!

calling for an international Arms Trade Treaty. After three years of
campaigning, the Control Arms campaign achieved a massive victory on
Thursday, October 26, when 139 governments voted in the favour of a UN
resolution to start work towards an Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). While 24
governments abstained, the United States was the only government to
vote
against the resolution.

It was the same with the Kyoto agreement on climate change. The government of the Land of the Free will do just as it bl**dy well likes, and stuff everyone else. Where's the morality and decency of the most powerful country in the world?

Good to hear about the result though - but will it make a difference? When will armies stop seeding land mines, for example?

That comes as no surprise.
The 'Stars and Stripes' really is the most hated symbol on earth, and even the moon!
When will those gung-ho, belligerant crusaders stop screwing up the world for the rest of us?

The US is strongly in favour of arms control so long as it does the controling and chooses who is to be controlled.
