Oh boy. If you start paying attention, Americans are very very sloppy with our English. It's only recently that people started saying "my life changed 360 degrees". There was a phrase (that made sense) "I turned my life around 180 degrees". I can't stand listening to sports commentators, and athletes during interviews because they say "He really gave 110%!" or "What he needs to do is get the ball in the goal". Seriously. Don't bother correcting people it just makes them feel dumb or else they won't care. Unless it is someone under 15, and then maybe they really don't know the right phrase. My other pet peeve? "I could care less" when they mean "I couldn't care less".

Hi there, Am sorry to hear what you are going through. First what I would like to say is well done for looking after him and being there for your husband when he lost his job. You don't deserve to be cheated on and it's not your fault. It becomes more difficult when there is a child involved. You need to give him time to think things through and also time for yourself. Be honest with yourself and think about what you and your baby want from this marriage. Sometimes you may stay for the child's seek and only later for things to get worse or better. When the thinking period is over see if your husband wants you back and if he is willing to make changes. Let him make the contact. Don't become too desperate or needy. If he really wants you back he will find ways to do that and make the changes that are needed. In the case of the other woman, I would wait to do the dna and see if he is the father and maybe from there you can make a decison. I hope for things to get better for you. Let us know how things turn out.

RE:
Do people not realize when they say they did a 360 degree turn they are back where they started?
I've always found it odd that people say things and not realize they are incorrect, but I've always been too embarrassed for them to correct them (I didn't want them to feel put on the spot or like I was putting them down).
But one that baffles me more than any other statement is...

Well...they say that meaning that they "turned things around" so turning 360 degrees would turn them all the way around. I don't think it has anything to do with their starting point. Answer to your second question...it bothers me when people talk about things that you know they know nothing about. Politics is a very good example of this.

It doesn't bother me as much as it used to, but there are still two irritants:
(1) if you correct them (no matter how gently), you're the one who looks like a geek, and (more importantly)
(2) once you start letting things like that go, you have to continue to make more and more compromises for lazy people who seem to expect you to do all the work of correcting their mistakes.
But other things like that bother me. And they're all of the same class of things. Little things, like courtesy (saying please and thank you), proper spelling and punctuation, which would be easy enough for someone to do.
Because when these sorts of little things break down, interacting with other people falls back to the level of kindergarten. There's no subtlety, no nuance.
And these are the things that I miss the most when they're gone.
(The link goes to a couple of books that say it better than I ever could.)

Just so you will know when people say they have done a 360 degree turn around in life it means they have done a complete turn around in life and starting over fresh. DON'T BE SO QUICK TO JUDGE when you don't understand.

I can't stand it either. They mean 180 but say 360. This are washy wishy people who feel they have a right to say the wrong thing and expect you to undersatnd them.

I cant stand that either!! I am not one that is perfect with my English, but there are a lot of things that get on my nerves. I used to be with this guy that always said "everything and all that" at the end of like every sentence. I get annoyed with myself sometimes because I always say "you know?" after everything. I need to stop doing that!!

You are so on the mark!
It is silly and it bothers somewhat, but I have learned to laugh because sometimes, it just does not matter to make it an issue.
