When it says "divided into" it means the opposite of "divided by" for example 6 divided into 12 is the same thing as 12 divided by 6. However in your problem it doesnt matter since the number (20 over 10) is used twice.

What we have is (20/10) / (20/10)

and if you remember the algabraic trick that you can multiplly by the reciprocal to solve the division, the question simplifies to:

(20/10) x (10/20)

now the tens and the twenties cancel and the answer becomes one.

There you have it! good luck, contact me if you have more questions.

It's been forever since I did fractions, but I believe you change the division to multiplication, and flip the 20 over 10. I came up with 1 over 10. I wouldn't quote me though...

Edit: Sorry. I solved it with the first one being 20 over 100. The second person's right. It all comes out to 1.

Twenty over ten (20/10) simplified equals 2
therefore: two over two (2/2) equals 1
Note: "divided into" is a tautology.

invert and multiply:

20 10 200
--- x --- = ---- = 1
10 20 200
