Putting some clothes together in a matter of hours, something that won't take too long. Nothing like a monster and such, but simple.

What I did in college one year was go to the Salvation Army and Goodwill (or any of those Thrift stores). You'd actually be surprised on some of the stuff you can find there. It's great AND hilarious!! I particularly like to go with the peculiar weird funny look. A lot of times, there were plenty of 70's era stuff and I'd get a whole outfit for like $5.00. I'd then add a couple of "accessories" (like some Aviator glasses and maybe an afro wig) and TAH DAH!! A cheap halloween costume. There are all kinds of other options. You can find things to make yourself a business person, a trucker, "white trash" person, sports star, etc. Another year I made myself a superhero which really all I had to do was buy some fabric to make a cape and for an eye-mask thingy. I wore a white t-shirt and just used permanent marker to make some made up symbol. If I remember correctly, I was Beer Man, which I duck taped plastic cups to my belt and could properly and perfectly pore a cup of beer (without spilling and foam). Don't ask. It was quite funny. The year after that I made a Ninja Turtle Costume (since I grew up with Ninja Turtles ---the OLD ones). I got two cardboard boxes and cut two big ovals out of them (enough to sort of cover the chest area and stomach). I got some paint and painted one of them like the underside of a turtle and the other oval to look like the shell. I got some string and tied the two pieces together near the shoulder blades and just slipped it over my head. Got a small piece of fabric and made my favorite Ninja turtle mask and whoa-la.....a custom made ninja turtle costume. Cheap, simple, and was a crowd favorite.

There is no need to buy those really experience costumes from the stores for a night of fun. Make your own for a fraction of the cost and spend the rest of the money on alcohol and/or fun.

Just a suggestion.

This year I turned 49 and aren't happy about it. So...I bought and old lady's gray wig with a bun and hairnet attached. I already had a t-shirt that has "This Is My Costume" printed in orange on the front. Get it? I'm an old lady, dressed as an old lady!

A ghost? Some camouflage clothes to go as an Army person? All black clothes & some make-up to look like a cat? A hippie?

get some old clothes (an old suit would be best - like your grandpa's or something) , put them on, roll around in the dirt for a few minutes. Then grab a stick and a handkerchief, tie the handkerchief to the stick, and viola! you're a hobo.

cheap and easy.

I was a car salesman. You simply slick your hair back and wear khakis, a nice shirt, and an ugly jacket. I also printed out some fake business card on my computer and went around writing huge dollar amounts on the back and handing them out to people telling them to think it over. Anytime anyone asked a question, I told them I had to check with my manager.

Very quick, simple & last minute. "Christmas Present"...Let your child pick a color or design for their wrapping paper. Pick a coordinating ribbon color. Pick a box size. Cut hole in the top of the box for their head, sides for their arms, and wrap your box. It is very cute and your child will definately stand out from all the scream masks wearing black robes.lol...The best part is the total cost is anywhere from $1 on up depending on your wrapping paper. :)

Dress in green clothes. Make cardboard or paper letters "N and V" and pin them to your chest. You're "green with "envy"
