The cops do not suck, maybe you went about it the wrong way when you were telling them what your ex was trying to do. Your ex has threatened both your lives, so something should be done about it. Talking to your ex will just make him madder! Try the cops again and tell them you both fear for your lives! Good Luck!

You need to force the police to file a report (they cannot refuse to do this if your ex has done something, or attempted to do something, or has threatened you in anyway)...then get an order of protection (your new BF will have to do this too...separately), stating that the ex is to NOT call, e-mail, contact you in anyway, and must stay so many yards away from you at all times. If he violates this order...he will be arrested as soon as you report it

If someone was trying to kill me, the last thing that would occur to me would be to post on Yahoo! answers and see what the folks there think I should do...
Get legal help...get the law involved (go back to the cops)...we can't do anything for you...
Good luck!

No, don't talk to him. If he's trying to kill you why would you want to talk to him. Document everything he does to you and/or your boyfriend, get a restraining order and then call the cops when he breaks it. Get smart, if he's really trying to hurt you, don't be alone at night, carry pepper spray, whatever.

Get a protective order. Go down to the court house and file for one. That's what I had to do with my ex-fiance. DO NOT try to talk to him if he's trying to kill you. That will only cause more problems.

Have you gotten a restraining order on him. Have your b/f do this also. Tell you ex that you have notified the police about his doings and that they are going to watch him. Doesn't have to be true, but it might make him think twice about doing anything. Can you purchase a gun in your state?
