Should it be hard for a blk, milit man to get perm job, and also does having been married 1 time make u scared

How hard should it be for a blk ex military man with no criminal background to get a permenant job? Also how do I go about knowing for sure wether he wants to marry me, he says that he does but we have talking about it for awhile now and he always tells me that he is going to ask me soon.. But to me soon is like within a couple weeks but it never happens, and if I bring it up teasinly he is like "you kill me with that" but it hurts because I don't want to continue on in a relaitonship that isn't goin to lead to that, because I love him dearly and I want to spend the rest of my life iwth him but if the feeling isn't mutual then I am feel I am wasting my time :(
He was married one when he was in the service and she turned out to be into being a swinger and wanted him too and he didn't, and then she tried to stab him adn that is when he left her, but I feel he is afraid of marrying me because of that ***** and what she did. but we aren't the same person and he tells me he knows that.

as long as he's only with you then don't rush him he's already been tramatized enough i'm sure he'll come around and marriage isn't the key to keeping a relationship together..
