Check with your County Assessor - they usually have on the property index card the approximate age of the home. In general it's not kept anywhere on public records the exact year a home was built, especially if its an older home. If its more recent the assessments office should have the year built. If really old, check the rafters in your attic or basement - sometimes people wrote the date on rafters. Also check your library. We have "City Directories" in our county that list addresses of property and who owns. If you follow them back through the years, sometimes your can figure out when a house was built just by the address showing up in the directory.
Above answers say the age of home should be reflected on your deed - but generally not.

Simply go to County Courthouse or City Hall and ask the accessor for information for the property you are interested in. Just have the address ready, otherwise you'll make the trip for nothing.
An alternative would be to ask a realtor, but they may charge a fee for their time. Some don't, just depends where you live.
