and im feelin so sad, because its halloween and i wanna see my nephew dressed up, but i know if i go to their house, ill let them abuse me and walk over me, if i go back to way things were, before the fallin out, i wanna know, if there is any one out there in the same situation, that has a grand child, niece nephew cousin or what ever that they cant see tonight, because of strains on the relationship with the parents????

Yes, I understand. Here is what I would do. Go to the house before the kid goes trick-or-treating to take his picture (take a camera) and bring his goodies for him. You're going to see the child...not the parents. you don't have to stay long, but just long enough to see the baby and leave. Be cordial, stay a few minutes with the child and then leave. THEN, it will be up to them to make the next move.

this sounds hard.....but here goes. If your brother is not standing up for you at all, there is nothing you can do. Just walk away, send Xmas and birthday cards to the children but distance yourself and let them get on with it. They are a family unit - even if you are right it won't change anything. Leave and get on with your own life, because your life is too short for all this upset and worry. I love my lot, but there is a 'healthy distance' between us all! One day you'll have your own family, and that is the best way.

talk to your brother with an independent family friend there and try and sort this out for the longtime, don't let it ruin seeing your nephew grow up, i'm sure thats not what they want either just that some of the communication wires have got crossed

Life is to short, if you want to see your nephew go see him. You don't have to deal with all the extra baggage, and let the parents know that you are there for your nephew's sake only..........

I can't see my brother and sisters kids tonight because I live abroad, slightly different situation, but I know how you feel, I miss all my family heaps.
