I seem to have hermits disappearing at a steady rate. The tank has a snowflake eel, two anenome's, some goby's, and a few clowns.

Well my anenome eats fish. It is not a filter feeder. The hermit crabs live underwater. They are not the above ground kind.

Might be the Eel it could also be your tank perameters. They could just be dieing check your nitrates. Also you may have a mantis shrimp if you have some live rock. Check your tank when the lights are off with a blue light and listen for some clicking sounds.

sounds like the eel is eating them. It's definitely NOT the anenome. They are filter feeders.

Hermit crabs are land dwellers.
Maybe I'm not understanding the species you mean.
The ones at the pet store that have the funky painted shells? They change shells when they grow? Those Hermit crabs? You don't put those in water. They drown. Once dead, they are scavenged by the other tank inhabitants.
If I have the wrong species, ignore this answer, I don't "do" salt water aquariums.
