When I was kid I used to dress up as a witch every year. I had fake skin and all for warts and a long ugly nose. My mom aws awesome with the makeup. I had the wierd teeth also..
It was awesome.

I have a couple favorites. One year my department at work did a pirate theme. To be a little different I decided to be the parrot. I used red sweat pants and a yellow hooded sweatshirt and made wings with blue material, then I glued brightly colored feathers all over the whole outfit. Topped it off with a cheap bird beak from a party store.
Another year my brother and I came up with a triple entendre - Jack the Reaper. We wore grim reaper costumes with Jack heads that we made by paper mache-ing round pinatas and using colored foam sheets for the facial features. We stopped at Jack in the Box all dressed up. The employees LOVED it. The funniest thing was months later when I moved I put a lot of stuff at the curb with a "free" sign. The Jack heads were the first things to go!

Two headed monster- me and a girlfriend purchased some gigantic pants (size 52) and shirt and both got in them, one in each leg, one arm in each side of the shirt and both of our heads popped up out the shirt top.
The problem was getting around since we had to scoot our feet or hop like a potato sack contest, but it was really funny.
One year I went as Garth from Wayne's world - obviously a long time ago but that was good too.

it wasn't mine but it was my brothers..we was dressed up as a rabbit in a cloth costume and we went to my aunts neighborhood to trick or treat in..and we went up to this house next to my aunts, my brother knocked on the door and this guy answered and said "honey, get me my shotgun, we have a rabbit at the door" and my brother took off so fast..we were like 5 and 4 at the time..i will never forget that night..i laugh every halloween thinking about it..

For me growing up one year I went as a hula dancer I wore my floral bikini and made my grass skirt out of crepe paper and the flowers for my lei and hair and wrist were all made out of tissue paper..... it was a fun cheap costume... As for my kids I would have to say the Dinosaur Costume I made my son when he was 3 years old that he wore for 3 years cause I made it so big...LOL

I was a bumble bee once. This year I am a sexy bat and my husband is a vampire. It's a hit! Oh, and my brother in law is Nacho Libre. Won best costume at the party!

What isnt my most favorite costume?
I have to say when i was a hobo. It cost me no money at all. I just used what i had, and i looked pretty food for someone who shouldn't look good. hehe.

When I was about 9 years old I was a french maid. I had really high heels and bright red lipstick. I thought I was grown. But by the end of the night, my feet hurt sooo bad. but it was so worth it.

I went to a party as a man- baggy grey work pants, old flannel shirt, purple nectie, men's shoes and a derby. Walked up to my best friend and tipped my hat and she still didn't know me. She and her husband were trying to figure out who "that little old man" was. :)
Scariest was as a witch (handing out candy)..... black caftan, long grey hairpiece, and homemade hat. Some of the little kids were reluctant to come get their treats.
Your own creations are the best kind and cheaper.
