Whatever you do, do not put on the application that you wish to work in food services for the rest of your life. It's kind of a trick question. The reason for the question is to see how ambitious you are and if you are level headed enough to pursue reasonable goals in tune with your current qualifications. If I were you (even if you have to stretch the truth a little), I would do some research and try to find an occupation that may be related to the job you are applying for but a better position. The vocational objective you are "trying" to obtain does not have to exist in the place you are applying at. What this does show is that you have some aspirations of doing something with yourself, and if you are accepted into this position you are willing to work to gain the needed experience and move up.
If the company feels you are a "go-getter" they will be more apt to hire you as you pose a minimal turn over risk to them. A word of caution though, try not to be obvious in trying to obtain specific positions within the company you are applying for, it might make people feel a little threatened if they assume your gunning for their job.

I think it's good to follow the old adage, that honesty is the best policy... but do it with out giving away too much personal information. Obviously, this is a job that you want, or you wouldn't be applying for it. Tell them that you are looking for long term job security, with a steady income. After researching their company if you feel that it they would be a good fit for your interests, let them know such. Also, don't be afraid to play up the reasons why they would want to have you working for them as well. Good luck with your job hunt!

You should mention that you plan to be devoted to whatever occupation you decide on, and you would like to provide dedicated service to a deserving job. You should also say you are looking for an occupation that you can grow into, and build a "family" with. Don't be embarrassed to sound corny!! Hope that helps!!

How about?
My goal is to work for a hospital that appreciates the hard work and honesty I bring to the job and then reward me with salary increases and possible job promotions.
Good luck.
