take it apart as much as you can and dry it with a hair dryer. if need be let it sit near the heater (dont let it melt!) overnight. a few years ago i had one of those motorola startacs and i dropped it in a jacuzzi. after i dried it out it was fine. good luck =)

Since at this time you don't seem to have anything to lose, try one of these:

Take out the battery and sim card, then submerge it in a pan of DISTILLED water (not "drinking water" or "spring water"). Slosh it around a bit, then let it dry out for a couple days in a sunny window (but not in a car dash, you want to dry it, not cook it). The distilled water will remove any "residue" and dry without leaving a film on the electrical contacts
or
Go to radio shack and buy a can of electric contact cleaner. Make sure it says it won't harm most plastics, but just keep in mind that there is always the chance it might. But at this point it doesn't matter, right? Again remove the battery and sim card. take it outside, put on some rubber gloves, then hold it over a bucket and spray it out with the entire can. spray it from many angles, and try to flush out as much of it's innards as you can. Put it in the window to dry (it will dry a lot faster than water though - the exposed liquid will dry almost immediately, but you might have some pooled up inside and you need to let that dry too).
After that, put the sim card and battery back in and hope for the best.

If you immediatly disconect the battery and let it dry for a few days you'll be ok. I'm a tech and we clean electronics all the time with liquid and then dry them in a low heat oven. But. If liquid reached an energized component it probably shorted it. It's worth a shot though. Oh BTW i've had alot of friends do the same thing and they're phones work almost without flaw.

I once dropped my cell phone into a baptism font at church and it sunk the the bottom. (where it sat for about 5 min. before we could fish it out) After letting the phone dry out for a week, it was fine. (This was a verizon phone, one of the "free" ones they hand out when you sign up with them about 3 years ago...)

I would say give it some time to totally dry, and then give it a go. However, My sister dropped hers into a huge puddle last year where it sat over night. (she didn't know she had dropped it) and it was ruined by the time the found it. (however, there was some sort of replacement clause she had in her contract so her phone was replaced. (I believe she actually upgraded it for some sort of fee.) Good luck, and don't be afraid to contact your service company if it doesn't dry out.

It's possible, because that happened to my daughter's phone - it took a few days to dry out inside. However, it's definitely not guaranteed to keep working and probably won't.

If you try to send it it to the phone company and claim the one year warranty - they'll turn you down because they have a moisture detector inside the phone and they'll be able to tell that you got it wet somehow.

Sorry.

DON'T TRY TO TURN IT ON!!!! Pull the battery out, and let it dry completely. The phone is probably fried, but if you're lucky you'll get it on long enough to write down all your phone numbers...

open it out, dry with a hairdryer, once dry you can try turn it on. It may be too late though.

this is a good time to teach him about potty training ... next time he must put something else in there instead!!

It sounds busted. Close the toilet seat and run to the store. Explain what happened. Maybe they know someone who can fix it or can tell you how to get a new one. Good luck.
