I dont think its right to encourage children to talk to strangers and beg!

I've turned off all the lights in the hope they'll think I'm out...although they'll prob take the opportunity to egg my house now!

They did that to the little old lady down the road last night, front of her house is pebble dashed and she cant get the egg off! She was out there scrubbing away with a broom this afternoon. She wouldnt accept any help or let me inform the police!
So I refuse to reward the little thugs with sweets!

No. I'm on here because the trick or treaters are just not doing the rounds tonight. I've had five groups of kids knock on the door in just over two hours. It must be the quietest Halloween I've experienced in this neighbourhood since I moved here in the 1980s.

Mind you, someone just started letting off fireworks so it is not so quiet now.

I'm in Texas, USA. Trick or Treat hasn't started here yet. The kids are still in school it is almost 3:00 PM. I won't be home this evening as I will be at work but I think hiding out on this site would sure be a lot more fun.

NO. i learnt my lesson the hard way years ago,
because i had nothing to give a group of kids that knocked on my door,( out of work at the time) they covered the whole front of my house with a mixture of flour, eggs and food colouring, it took me a complete day to clean it all off.
so now i always make sure that i have sweets to give out.

I bought a bag of lollies, one scruffy urchin knocked on the door saying he had two mates around the corner so they all got some.

Of course. Tomorrow it will be to avoid the football. Thursday it will be to avoid having sex and Friday it will be to avoid anything that needs avoiding!

Hope this helps to clear the air>
