photosynthesis occur in chloroplasts(green coloured pigments). so, due to that the green plant parts are more actively involved in photosynthesis. leaves make the bulk of them.

Photosynthetic organs of a plant are leaf , stem , stipules etc. But major photosynthetic organ are leaves.

the major photosynthetic organ of the plant is the chloroplast which are concentrated in the leaves. but more specifically it is the thylakoids of the chloroplast which contain pigment such a chlorophyll which absorb photons (light particles)
