my friend wants to ask her gym teacher how to use a tampon????

No not at all!! I think that if she feels comfortable enough to ask her- then she should GO FOR IT!! I don't know what the teacher will say to her- but... i think she should ask her. She shouldn't be scared or embarassed because the gym teacher is a girl too!

Honestly your friend may think that the gym teacher would have more experience answering questions about using tampons. I know when I was in school, the gym teacher had the pads/tampons and was also the sex education teacher. So if her mother isn't around or she doesn't trust someone else, at least she's going to an adult authority figure she knows won't lie to her or have her hurting herself too much.

What's wrong with asking her mother? If she trusts and looks up to her gym teacher, I guess its ok.

I guess if she wants to know, she should ask a trusted adult. So no, it's not that weird.
Maybe she could ask the school nurse, or just read the instructions on the box - they must have them - instead.

If she trusts her gym and can talk to her easily then why not? Talking to people about those things is difficult enough if there's someone you're comfortable talking to then go for it.

Yeah, I'd say she should talk to her mom. But if she trusts the teacher and they have a good relationship, then its ok I guess.

Male or female. If it's a female, it may just be an authority figure she trusts and respects. If it's a male......that's a whole other story!
