The Stand, so good you honestly fear people with the sniffles.

Ooooooh, what a good question! I don't know if I can decide. May I give you my top 3 instead?
1. Needfull Things
2. Dolores Claibourne
3. Rose Madder
But now that I have given 3, I'm thinking of loads more! Desperation, Insomnia, Cujo (more a short story than a book, but still amazing!). There are too many! The man is a legend! Black House...the list is endless!

I liked the very first I read, before anyone had heard of Stephen King.......yes I am old........Salems Lot. It was his second book and I picked it up 'cos it was a totally black cover with one red drop of blood, I then noticed the embossed face....started reading it and it gripped me to the end. I think Salems Lot set the pattern for many of his later books. I do like King, but he does have a problem with endings.

Wow, good question. By no means have I read all of his books and some have bored me. On the other hand, IT was awesome, and despite it being 900+ pages, I have read it several times.
I loved Insomnia and the Bachman Books are very good stories, especially the Long Walk. Am a big fan of his short stories too.

Has anyone ever read The Talisman? He wrote it with some other dude, haven't read it for years but I really enjoyed it at the time.
I enjoyed The Bachman Books as well. The Running Man film with Arnie in was just awful compared to the book.

The dark tower series - Wizard and glass (book 4)
A close second would have to be Desperation which I read for the first time recently and couldn't put down - gripping stuff!

It's The Stand or Needful things, both books were good but then so are most of his. This is a hard question to answer.

I would have to say the Bachman books. 4 stories in one book...
The body (made into the film Stand By Me) was great.
The Long Walk was brilliant. My legs ached after reading it.
Salems Lot is another brilliant book. It scared me as I read it and books don't often do that to me.

In my opinion it's a tie between The Dark Tower trilogy, The Stand, and Salem's Lot.
