How young is too young to go trick or treating in your opinion. On the other hand, how old is too old? Do you restrict candy from anyone?

As long as they're in costume, your never too old or too young to go trick or treating! Although I would probably limit an older kid or person to one candy and save the best for the little ones! hey, at least they're not out robbing people! It's all in the spirit of good, clean fun, something we don't get enough of these days.

Who put an age on trick-or-treating anyway? That's my question, it was probably some Halloween scrooge. I think that children should be w/ an adult & adults should be aware of the dangers, but beside that fact, who has the right to say you're to old or to young. I am a 29 year old mother w/ 2 children. I have a 5 & a 4 year old and all 3 of us plan on dressing up & going trick-or treating. We are going out tonight and we are going to rack in on some candy. So, for all you Halloween scrooges that don't go........that's more candy for us!!!

As a kid, I continued trick or treating until I was almost done with high school. It was my choice when to stop trick or treating. As long as the kids are behaving and enjoying it, I really don't think there should be an age limit on trick or treating. As far as how young, I took my babies out in their costumes when they were little. Everyone loved the cute costumes they were dressed in. I think it more so depends on the type of weather, if a parent wants to take their baby trick or treating and it's really cold or raining they should opt for indoor places like malls or community centers for little ones to be warm when trick or treating. However if it's a nice night not too cold or raining then take those babies out so mom and dad can eat the sweet treats!

No one is too young to go trick or treating it just may mean more adult help. I don't think there's such a thing as too old exactly either. Teens or older that show up at my door with no real effort on a costume get dum dums instead of chocolate bars when they show up. I can't stand it when some loser shows up wanting candy without a costume and if I ask either demands candy anyways or says he/she is a rapper or ganster or some crap like that. If an 80 year old shows up at my door in costume, he gets candy just like anyone else would. Probably more than average because he put the effort forth.

I have to agree with sassy old broad, anybody who has the spirit to dress up and come to my door WILL get candy. After all, doesn't Santa visit people of all ages as well? Part of the problem we are having in this country is that too many people are too concerned with everybody else's business. If I want to dress up at 33 years old, let me be and anyone else as well. It is a harmless holiday which has pagan (not satanic) origins from a time when people were still totally unsure about the world and it's surroundings. Have a Happy Halloween Everybody!

I don't think there should be age restrictions either way. As long as your baby doesn't get all "spooked" you can take them around to the neighbors & relatives. You can keep the candy for yourself! I know a lot of people don't like to have teens trick or treating at their house, but I think it's great that they still have fun doing it. I will give treats to anyone who comes to my house!

I take them out at all ages! Halloween is a very social time for all us parents where I live and usually when we all take the babies around for their introductions. Now, my littlest just accompanies the older ones with me, she doesn't eat the candy anyway. But when I just had the one baby, she and I did Trick or Treat for Unicef instead of for candy. That way I still got to take her around and didn't get stuck with a pumpkin full of candy that would do nothing for my post-baby-having body!
Also, since we have bunches of babies and toddlers, I keep 2 bowls of treats. Candy for the older kids, and in the baby bowl I keep raisins, small bags of goldfish crackers and small boxes of Cheerios. I let the parents pick out whatever the little one would like the most.

Under 2yrs is probly too young most babies don't eat candy. Over 15yrs is getting a little old. Most teens usually attend a party instead of trick or treating.

I think any age is fine. Having people come to your door on Hallowen is a great way to meet your neighbors and also a great way to meet the teens and the parents of those teens that might be out that night more for tricking instead of treating.
