How about Indira Gandhi Peace Prize for Javed Akhtar??

Question

Can you tell for what contribution the Government might have singled out a film personality ... among more than 100 crore people??

This question is not about any personal problem of the asker... it is about a national award that is given on behalf of the entire population of India. There is no question about being Hindu or Muslim all are sons of India, brothers, you agree or not but it is true.

I am an admirer of Javed since the days he came in lights through 'Sholey' along with Salim as ‘Salim Javed’ and I feel enchanted with the fact that he got an award. However, the question is that, what were the characteristics, considered by the government for this particular prize. We do like to know so that we could follow his path for doing our part for the national integrity.

Kindly take it in a national perspective. I would feel pained if this question hurts anybody's feeling or appear to be indecent to anybody. Kindly take it positively.

I do not know what Javed Akhtar has done, to bring the peace in this country, except for writing for the Hindi films...

These days, these prizes have last their sheen, because, these prizes are given only on the whims and fancies fo party in ruling and also on political and other consideration. Real talent has taken a back seat..

Are you trying to say that a Muslim should not get it? If a Hindu got that award, would you have posted this question and asked about his contribution?

Well, why do you think a film personality cannot contribute anything to society? Film is a strong medium and it can be used to contribute positively for the good of society. That's it, boy !!!
