I think if its just for trick or treating for the kids its not that bad. As long as your not worshipping the devil.

I think you should do whatever makes you comfortable.
Please be assured that the only evil thing about Halloween is the fact that it's become a billion dollar industry.
This is a holiday that sprang from observing the shortest day of the year by getting together with neighbors and friends to feast and make sure all was prepared for a long cold winter.
Maybe you should do some research on the origins of the holiday to put your mind at ease. Then, maybe you should channel your energy into helping your community arrange a nice safe non scary party for the kids NEXT year.

Halloween has become so commercialized there is almost no religious significance left in it unless you actually celebrate it with religious intent. Halloween now is not about the passing of The God and remembering loved ones. its about who has the cutest costume. it that is how you celebrate it then by all means have fun. im pagan but i still enjoy Christmas. i just dont really think about the Christian side of it and rather enjoy the family side of things and the fun of gift giving.

Halloween is about as pagan as your can get.....like CHRISTMAS!!! If you're worrying about celebrating Halloween then don't buy a tree this year. I think it's a time for kids to have fun and that's it. Stop reading all the "christian" crap into it. Godlovya and I hope the kids get alot of candy!

It all depends on what you are celebrating Halloween for... I'm a Christian, and I celebrate Halloween. I even go to haunted houses and watch scary movies. But I have no question about who I am worshipping, God or Satan. If celebrating Halloween makes you question your faith, maybe you don't need to celebrate it.

Yes they should... because Halloween is a Christian invention. It's Samhain or All Hallows Eve, the day you can get in touch with otherworldly spirits and such. It was established by the church to offset the various pagan fall festival rituals because the church was trying to attract the European pagan majority into it's ranks. Along with taking over pagan holidays the church had a policy of building cathedrals on top of pagan places of worship, and making Saints of and Christianizing pagan deities. This was a carry over of the policy of the Romans, to integrate, Roman-ize and upgrade conquered nations and the Roman Catholic Church has deep roots in the customs of the Roman Empire. So Christians, it's all right to participate in Halloween, it's a Christian thing and has nothing to do with Satan, which is also a christian thing, or witchcraft which has nothing to do with any of it.

Christians can celebrate Halloween but by doing things that is pleasing to God. As in just having fun with friends and not serving bad drinks and just using punch, and to just spending time with your kids and baking things together and enjoying some Halloween classics, like hocus posus, and charlie brown, etc. halloween can be fun be without being bad.

YES!!!! It's only sadistic if you make it that way. It's a fun day for kids (and some adults) to get dressed up in a costume and go door to door for candy. That's ALL it is to most kids. It's the adults who make it something else. I'm a Christian adn I've always celebrated Halloween....it's just a day of FUN!

If you really study out Halloween you find out that it is nothing but a Devils holiday. I do not believe "TRUE" Christians celebrate it. The Devil finds any way he can to sneak in and fool anyone he can. It is a simple foothold into your home. He seemed innocent in the garden of Eden too. Eve only took one small HARMLESS bite of the fruit that opened up all mankind to sin. I never understood how parents can teach their children not to talk to or take anything from a stranger but then take them door to door from stranger to stranger and ask for candy.......Doesn't make sense to me.....think about it!!!!

Yes, I think it is OK for Christians to celebrate Halloween. At our church we throw a Harvest Fair for the children. The kids get to dress up as long as it is nothing scary or diabolic.

a very controversial question. i think if christian people or people who are of a belief in Christ as Savior, want to let their kids enjoy some fun on oct. 31st, and their kids are safe, why not. some christians might say it is sinful to let your kids participate in the halloween festivities, but i am a christian, and i have allowed my kids to participate in safe fun. i have also educated them on why halloween is considered to be a devil's day, and told them that if we enjoy safe fun on the devil's supposed day, then we mock the devil. just because christians let their kids have some fun and candy on the 31st dosen't make them devil worshipers. it all depends on how you look at it. but i also make sure my kids know what the true history of halloween is. they can still have a good time without being sinners. my son goes to a christian school, and i take him to an annual fall festival party where kids and adults enjoy games, treats, and prizes. its' indoors, and everyone has fun. no harm has ever come to anyone at these parties, and my son dosen't suffer from any phobias. like in the bible where it says, if a man thinks it is bad to eat of a certain meat, then it is bad for that man to eat of it. also, if a man does not believe a certain meat is bad for him, then it is not bad for him. perspective.
