What is the most efficient way to get humidity with boiler type heat.?

I have 2 portable humidifiers now and it is a pain & expensive to buy wicks every couple of months. I do not have a furnace so a forced air humidifier will not work for me. Any answers would be helpfull.

POT OF WATER ON RADIATOR, OR JUST LEFT OUT - EVAPORATION DOES WORK!

get some nice plants with lots of leaves they naturally give off humidity just remember to water them
